Dating Advice, Orthodox Style

I wasn't Orthodox of course, but I met my husband online. Everyone in church and all the serious Christians I knew were married, which was why I joined the site a now-defunct Christian singles site. I made friends there that I am still in regular contact with nearly all women now years later. Only me becoming Orthodox means that much of the commonality I sought with him as far as faith is no longer common. But it's certainly possible to make real friends and relationships online. One of my good female friends is someone I first met online over 20 years ago. The site I joined didn't select for anything either - one could search, but actually most real connections were made through the forum. Well, for an update, that single guy I know put his profile on the Orthodox Christian Dating site, but as of yet there aren't a whole lot of people on there within reasonable distance. It might be nice if more people knew about the site. It seems there are a lot more members joining recently, perhaps some of them even joined because of this thread. My young single friend has been messaging a girl in Illinois like a 12 hour car ride away. Problem with most online dating sites is that there are 50 men for every woman. So the odds are not too good. It can work, Heck my cousin met and married an australian girl on a greek online dating site. His daughter now basically has triple citizenship, lol. Of course my cousin was on that dating site for like 10 years. My young single friend has been messaging a girl in Illinois like a 12 hour car ride away. I can't help it. I'm just picturing someone that finds someone else close to them, only to discover they go to the same parish, already know each other, and wouldn't date each other for all the tea in China, or maybe already dated that person and it didn't work out. I feel for the single folks. I wasn't Orthodox of course, but I met my husband online. Thank God my priest didn't insist on that? I'm not sure how it is right that a spouse could prevent one from being able to join the Church? Another catechumen was chrismated soon before me and his wife was a staunch Catholic and rejected the Church. And to answer your question, at times he handles it better than at other times. He is currently exploring things that greatly concern me, so perhaps the bigger issue is that I'm not handling his spiritual pursuits that well right now - I am often quite grieved. I don't know if any Churches deny one being able to join if the spouse will not join. The first priest I spoke with advised me to go slowly, and to be gentle with my husband. But neither of them denied me being received into the Church.

However, given our purpose, as stated above, and the fact that our membership is comprised of traditional Christian singles, anyone outside of this market orthodox christian dating site find it difficult to connect with anyone suitable for them on the service. We were each the first person met from the medico, and we hit it off right away. Spark provides daily devotions, live Bible study, and you can read and learn about events going on in the Orthodox Christian world and persecuted Christians. You may not authorize others to use your membership, and you may not assign or otherwise difference your account to any other person or entity. Through your site we were able to meet in person and since have shared many happy years together. Several of my clergy friends liked and commented on a new online dating site called. The only obligation the TCC service has to you, in the ring you do not wish to purchase additional access to the TCC service, or the TCC service decides to grant you additional free access to the TCC service, entirely at their own discretion, is to either archive your profile such that it will not remain visible to any other member for the duration of it being archived until you decide to either unarchive it or delete it, upon your explicit written request, or delete your profile from the TCC service upon your explicit written request.
